We are seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Structural Steel Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both estimating and field operations within the structural steel and miscellaneous steel industry. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage projects from conception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous steel projects.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bids.
- Develop detailed material, labor, and equipment cost estimates.
- Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and availability of materials.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of steel construction projects.
- Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure project specifications are met.
- Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to keep projects on track.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Field Experience:
- Provide hands-on leadership and supervision at construction sites.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor junior staff and field crews.
- Maintain accurate and detailed daily reports of work activities, progress, and any issues encountered.
- Client Relations:
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring satisfaction with the project.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural steel and miscellaneous steel estimating and field operations.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects.
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and project management tools.
- Strong understanding of structural steel design, fabrication, and erection processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
