What are the responsibilities and job description for the Partnerships & Community Development Connector position at Project Dandelion?
Location: Remote
Contract Type: Part-time contractor (24 hours/week)
Compensation: $74,880/year ($60/hour)
Duration: 6-month initial contract with potential to extend
Start Date: August 2025
Project Dandelion is a collective campaign for climate action grounded in justice, storytelling, and movement building. We amplify the voices of women and frontline leaders, weaving together a coalition of partners committed to co-creating a climate-safe world that is livable for all. We believe that when you connect communities, you multiply courage. That movements grow through narrative and relationships, not control. And that the wisdom we need is already in the room we have to gather it.
In decentralized campaigns like ours, where local leadership and global coordination must move in tandem, the Connector serves as the relational infrastructure between grassroots action, coalition alignment, and institutional funding.
They will:
- Strengthen our network of partners, amplifying efforts already underway and ensuring inclusivity and mutuality in our campaign work
- Support the co-creation of proposals with aligned organizations and help shape high-impact activations
- Conduct research into family foundations, aligned funders, and climate justice philanthropies, helping us expand and diversify our funding base
- Track and translate insights from the field, building a feedback loop between our campaigns and the communities we serve
This role is integral to our ability to move quickly while building trust, transparency, and sustainable systems for scale.
Community & Partner Development
- Map and manage relationships across our ecosystem: NGOs, coalitions, cultural leaders, and funding partners
- Identify moments of alignment (policy windows, campaigns, convenings) for joint action
- Coordinate with campaign teams to activate partner engagement and measure impact
- Draft partnership proposals, concept notes, and briefing materials for co-branded initiatives
- Conduct proactive research into high-potential family foundations and climate-aligned philanthropies, particularly those interested in gender equity, narrative strategy, and frontline innovation
- Support the creation of a funder engagement plan aligned with our theory of change
- Create tools and systems for tracking partner touchpoints, field research, and ecosystem insights
- Aggregate learnings from partners into quarterly briefs that inform strategy, campaigns, and donor updates
- Collaborate with data and editorial teams to elevate community-led knowledge into accessible storytelling
- A seasoned relationship-builder with 5 years of experience in movement-aligned partnership work, development, or coalition organizing
- Deeply grounded in equity, climate justice, and network-led strategy
- Familiar with both grassroots organizing and philanthropic landscapes, including experience researching or engaging with foundations and major donors
- A creative communicator who can distill complex ideas into shared action
- Adept at operating within fluid, collaborative structures with global reach
- Experience developing partnership proposals or writing for mission-aligned funders
- Worked within global networks, decentralized movements, or cultural campaigns
- Are comfortable distilling research or data into accessible insights for partners and the public
- A chance to shape the operational backbone of a nimble, high-impact initiative
- A flexible, remote-first work environment rooted in shared purpose and care
- The opportunity to grow into a long-term leadership role as we expand our team and reach
