In Homes Now is a cluster of scatter site permanent housing programs with 257 apartment units in The Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn. The program serves men, women, and families. The individuals and families have histories of homelessness, mental health and substance use. The multidisciplinary team includes case managers, peer counselors, psychiatric care providers, and occupational therapy interns who work with clients to ensure housing stability and improve wellbeing.

Program Description
In Homes Now is a cluster of scatter site permanent housing programs with 257 apartment units in The Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn. The program serves men, women, and families. The individuals and families have histories of homelessness, mental health and substance use. The multidisciplinary team includes case managers, peer counselors, psychiatric care providers, and occupational therapy interns who work with clients to ensure housing stability and improve wellbeing.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Interact with tenants and record maintenance complaints
- Follow-up with landlords and property managers to schedule repairs for tenants
- Oversee repairs performed in tenants’ apartments
- Create and terminate Con Edison Accounts and National Grid Accounts
- Oversee the completion of bi-annual Housing Quality Inspections in 116 apartments and complete inspections when necessary
- Complete environmental reviews for 177 HUD funded units when due (every 5 years)
- Help facilitate annual tenant recertifications for units that require it
- Ensure all apartments are equipped with working fire safety equipment
- Look for new apartments with brokers and existing management companies
- Maintain inventory of apartment keys and make copies as needed
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Valid NYS Driver’s License a plus
- Communication: Excellent oral, writing, and listening skills are a must.
- Organizational: The ability to work well with various deadlines and meet documentation requirements.
- Interpersonal: An ability to interface with clients as well as all levels of staff.
- Computer: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of HIPPO system preferred.
- Language: Bilingual in Spanish or multilingual is a plus
