Title: Training Specialist
Salary Range: $55,000 – 70,000
Position Overview:
Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Clinical Development and Training, the Training Specialist is responsible for providing a two-day CPI Training to all newly hired employees as an essential part of their orientation process. The Training Specialist is also responsible for implementing trainings for frontline staff that will enable them to build the
skills they need to perform their jobs in a safe, efficient, and competent manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The essential duties of the Training Specialist will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Provide CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training as part of PRI’s orientation process.
Provide follow-up training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and De-escalation as needed to staff throughout the agency in conjunction with other certified trainers.
Work with the Senior Director of Clinical Development and Training to create training materials that best meet the needs of frontline staff.
Provide in-person and virtual trainings for PRI staff on topics that may include, but will not be limited to, Client Engagement, Documentation, Effective Communication, Conflict Resolution, Verbal De-escalation, Teamwork, Time Management, Utilizing Supervision, Problem-Solving, etc.
Travel to various sites across PRI to provide onsite program-specific trainings to meet current needs.
Work a later shift (10am-6pm or 11am-7pm) up to two days per month to provide trainings for staff who are working the evening shift.
Participate in weekly supervision with the Senior Director of Clinical Development and Training.
Maintain records and documentation in accordance with the policies of the Training Department.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Clinical Development and Training.
Qualifications:
All candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. A master’s degree in the human services field is preferred but not required.
A minimum of three year’s experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and/or substance use disorder is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Communication: Strong oral presentation skills are essential for this role. Solid writing and active listening skills are also preferred.
Interpersonal Skills: An ability to relate to frontline staff and facilitate their engagement in training is essential.
Organizational Skills: Effective time management, setting priorities, organizing materials, preparedness, and meeting deadlines are important to this role.
Computer Skills: The ability to use technology associated with creating and presenting training materials is essential to this role.
Community Navigation Skills: The ability to travel to all PRI sites is a required skill for this position.All newly hired Project Renewal staff must provide verification of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
