What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planning Coordinator position at Quaker Houghton?
SUMMARY:
Supports the Warehouse Supervisor by performing routine activities associated with work order processing and completion, preparing next day shipments, and committing stock for customer orders. Audits work orders from production and enters data into ERP system to ensure up-to-date inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Analyze work orders for accuracy in regards to manpower hours and inventory use. Issue raw material inventory per data received and accurately complete work orders by updating the receipt of finished goods material. Run work order proofs daily and audit for accuracy.
- Pull data from EFP/Dashboard for next day shipment of customer orders. Verify ship dates and quantities. Inspect customer factory order to make sure all pertinent customer shipping requirements are noted and met.
- Interface with plant production, Production planner, and customer services representatives to ensure on-time delivery to customers. Work with production personnel on any product needed for shipments. Update ERP system and customer service with details on any orders not shipped in full on time.
- Commit stock to customer orders. Verify quantities and lot details received from shipping personnel and ensure data is correct in ERP system. Audit any discrepancies and update ERP system with inventory adjustments as needed.
- Assist in adjustments related to inventory throughout the month to ensure correct inventory levels by part and lot numbers. Enter adjustments from R&D department and for Lab samples sent to customers. Assist with bi-yearly inventory stock takes and reconciliations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / EHS RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The duties of this job are normally performed in an office environment; occasionally required to walk through and perform tasks in a plant production and shipping environment. May also be required to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to wear required PPE.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Key Education or Certification Required
High School or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience

Entry level 0-2 years
Required Skills and Competencies
- Excellent organization skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing process particularly in chemical manufacturing
- Knowledge of JDE a plus
- Forklift experience optional
