What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secondary Operator - R&L Spring position at R&L Spring Company?
Job Summary:
The Secondary Operator Under general supervision, will be required to set up and operate various secondary equipment and perform associated tasks to produce quality products for our customers in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operate, set up and maintain all equipment in secondary processes.
- Meet & thrive to exceed setup time and run rates.
- Perform assigned work as required, such as sorting of products or assisting in primary operations.
- Adhere to all quality requirements and perform all required in-process checks and data collection inputs.
- Notify supervisor/Team Leader if nonconformances are found.
- Complete necessary paperwork and traveler documentation.
- Follow R&L workmanship and quality guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Abides by all R&L policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook
- Abides by all R&L safety standards and requirements
- Learn all other processes that affect the final product. Examples include shot peen and outside service.
- Packing & Handling of completed parts.
- Monitors machines for failures and makes proper adjustments. Notifies supervisor of status.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to read and follow written work instructions
- Reading and understanding of customer blueprints
- Ability to use and understand electronic tablets for production data input.
- Ability to use and understand inspection measuring & and test equipment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Basic tool knowledge
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- Preferred manufacturing experience
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
1st shift
Monday - Friday from 6 am to 2:30 pm
OR
Monday - Thursday from 7 am to 3:30 pm & Friday from 6 am to 2:30 pm
40 hours/week
Overtime available but not required
