What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Project Manager position at Rana Creek Habitat Restoration?
Rana is an ecological design firm specializing in landscape architecture, habitat restoration, native plant propagation and landscape construction. Our firm is rooted in the traditions of science and ecology, with a mission to restore biodiversity and preserve healthy ecosystems through an integrated design process. Rana works on a variety of landscape design/build projects, habitat restoration and seed collection projects, and landscape construction projects throughout California.
We currently have projects in the SF Bay area, Alameda County, and the Monterey Bay area. We are seeking a Landscape Project Manager to help facilitate the organized success and leadership of our Landscape Construction Department. The Landscape Project Manager is expected to integrate with our design department to assist in the development of construction details and budget tracking. Assist in analyzing drawings, complete take-offs, contract subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes for inclusion in estimates, develop project proposals, develop project objectives, determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, determine and maintain project schedule, coordinate activities, and resolve problems. The Landscape Project Manager will report to the Principal Landscape Architect, Account Manager, and CEO.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Construction and maintenance supervision and quality control
- Coordinate with cost estimators
- Product and material procurement
- Assembling and sending submittals, change orders, and RFI’s
- Construction and maintenance scheduling for multiple projects at a time
- Developing construction staff to encourage teamwork and professional improvements
- Coordination with design staff for design build projects
- Quality customer service for all Rana clients and subcontractors
- Works in compliance with Union regulations and staffing coordination.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- 3 years experience in leading landscape and habitat restoration crews is expected.
- Applicant must be an inquisitive, energetic individual dedicated to innovative construction methods and ecological landscape solutions.
- Landscape construction experience with habitat restoration, ecological design, California native plants, and irrigation design is required.
- Experience with water reuse systems, living roofs and living walls is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read
- Proficient Microsoft Office, Project, BlueBeam, and AutoCAD experience is a plus
- Proficiency with project management software and systems
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Organized and a Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
- Horticultural background.
- Travel is expected within the SF Bay area, Alameda County, and the Monterey Bay area.
