Job Description Overview: The Adjunct Instructor will provide instruction over setting up, operating, and troubleshooting variable speed drives in an industrial workplace. They must report and maintain documentation of students progress, attendance, and performance. Perform other duties that are assigned. The Instructor may be required to work with industry to create a customized curriculum that fits their needs and schedule. They must have a strong background in working with variable speed frequency drives in the workplace environment. The Instructor must have a strong passion for teaching, supporting, and preparing students to reach their educational goals.
Job Description Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of content.
- Provide a hands-on learning environment.
- Educate students on setting up, operating, and troubleshooting variable speed drives.
- Introduce students to basic features and setup procedures for most drives.
- Educate students on troubleshooting fault codes associated with motor circuits.
- Introduce students to input drive methods 0-10 volts and 4-20 milliamps.
- Performs other duties that are assigned.
- Be sure to always supervise all hands-on activities.
- Provides an engaging, supportive, and positive learning environment.
- Clearly establishes expectations for learning and achievement.
- Communicates well with students and staff.
- Make sure safety measures are always used and the learning environment is safe for all students and staff.
- Plan, develop, teach, and facilitate classes that involve theoretical and hands-on learning where students can gain the knowledge that is needed.
- Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, maintain student progress, performance and records.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support program goals and student success.
- Keep track of students attendance, participation, progress and grades.
- May be required to work with industry to create a customized curriculum that fits their needs and schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master of skill in variable speed frequency drives.
- Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, cooperative, and dependable.
- Great communication skills.
- Must be able to work evenings if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching or training experience.
Physical Requirements:
- To be able to stand for long periods of time.
- To be able to lift moderate equipment, materials, and supplies.
