Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Driver Relations & Operations Coordinator to support our growing intermodal team. This role will serve as a critical link between operations and our driver network (both employee and carrier), ensuring smooth communication, documentation compliance, and day-to-day support. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, and ready to roll up their sleeves to help the operation run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Driver & Carrier Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for onboarding and supporting CDL Class A drivers (both MCs and employee drivers).
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with drivers to support retention and engagement.
- Help drivers resolve issues related to dispatch, documentation, ELDs, or customer expectations.
- Assist with orientation, training coordination, and policy reinforcement.
Operations Support
- Collaborate daily with dispatch and terminal operations to manage driver schedules, assignments, and updates.
- Ensure all driver-related documents (medical cards, insurance, permits, etc.) are collected, tracked, and updated.
- Support container and chassis tracking, appointment scheduling, and rail terminal communication as needed.
- Monitor workflow and flag issues that could impact service or operational efficiency.
Compliance Assistance
- Assist in maintaining driver qualification files and compliance checklists.
- Support internal audits by keeping files organized and accessible.
- Track expirations and follow up with drivers proactively.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in intermodal, drayage, or general transportation operations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills—especially with drivers.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with ELD systems and dispatch platforms a plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
