What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Engineer position at RecruitPod Global?
We are seeking a Controls Engineer to design, implement, and optimize complex control systems for high-speed manufacturing equipment. This role directly impacts plant performance by enhancing equipment reliability and supporting engineering-based improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, specify, and program PLCs, DCS, HMIs, servo systems, sensors, and drives
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, production, OEMs, and vendors for equipment design, installation, and commissioning
- Troubleshoot and modify control software to improve machine and system performance
- Lead small capital projects and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Integrate MES systems and coordinate machine data collection
- Provide training and mentorship to engineering, maintenance, and operations personnel
- Stay updated on new automation technologies, safety regulations, and best practices
- Provide after-hours/off-shift technical support as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, or Manufacturing Engineering
- Minimum 3 years' experience in high-speed manufacturing environments
- Experience with Rockwell, Allen-Bradley, and Siemens PLC hardware/software
- Strong knowledge of motion control, servo systems, and Cognex vision systems
- Hands-on MES, robotics (Mantec), and process controls experience
- Familiarity with MS Project and SAP
- Skilled in AutoCAD, HMI design, and industrial automation programming
- Personable, driven, eager to learn, and strong technical aptitude
