The Opportunity:
Recycling Management Resources (RMR) has an exciting career opportunity for an Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant to join our AP department! The accounts payable department keeps our financial systems running smoothly by managing cash flow and paying vendors.
The AP accountant will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.
This position will be based in Duluth, GA, with a current hybrid schedule of 2 days in the office and reports to the Accounts Payable Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Travel Demands: Anticipated travel is 0-10%
How you will make an impact:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily:
- Process, verify and reconcile invoices.
- Work with the procurement department to obtain purchase orders as needed.
- Cultivate a strong working relationship across company departments.
- Initiate and maintain positive relationships with new and existing vendors.
- Address and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner.
- Create weekly payables reports.
- As needed, serve as support in accounting functions such as account analyses, research of transactions and reports, and year-end audit preparation.
- Assist senior financial officers as needed.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in Accounts Payable.
- Experience Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel).
- Highly motivated and willing to learn.
- Able to multi-task and handle large volumes of transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Great attention to detail.
- Must be self-directed and demonstrate ability to meet competing demands and priorities.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, people, and organization skills.
- Works well with others, builds positive and professional relationships within and across teams, and collaborates effectively.
