Red Stick Armature has been in business since 1959, making us the oldest, locally-owned, complete electric motor repair and service shop in the state of Louisiana. RSAW is looking for a motivated Accountant who will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of accounts receivable and assisting in various accounting functions. This position reports directly to the Controller, and you’ll have the opportunity to work with other team members and customers.

Job Description

BILLING: Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the RSAW system; prepare and send accurate invoices to our customers daily for goods and services upon delivery, ensuring taxes are appropriately applied; submit customer invoices timely to various online portals if used by our customers; also responsible for the timely follow up of rejections and other discrepancies; send out pre-due notifications weekly reminding customers of upcoming invoices that are due the following week; process credit card payment transactions on an as needed basis; report weekly on Accounts Receivable metrics.

COLLECTIONS: Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities; initiate collection efforts; carry out collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines; review A/R aging to ensure compliance with RSAW company goals; assist Controller in cash management by forecasting upcoming receipts.

CUSTOMER RELATIONS: Investigate and resolve customer queries; communicate with customers via phone, email, mail, or personally; generate and send out customer statements which provide information regarding current account balances as required by Controller and upon request of customers; assist in new customer credit reviews to help determine credit worthiness; maintenance of the Accounts Receivable inbox.

ACCOUNTING & ANALYSIS: Assist with month-end closing journal entries and reclassifications; assist in ensuring accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and cost of goods sold; assist in monthly income statement preparation and cost variance analysis; assist with monthly gross margin analysis; complete monthly schedules maintained to support balance sheet account balances; resolve accounting discrepancies; collect data and prepare analysis on services provided but unbilled.

GENERAL: Responsible for petty cash reconciliation and replenishment ensuring minimum balances are maintained; assist in answering the phone if Receptionist is unable to; responsible for maintaining current and accurate process documentation for all procedures performed.

Education: Must have at least an associate degree in any business-related field. Prefer Accounting specialization. Will consider Accounting experience in lieu of Accounting specialization.

Pay: $39,191.71 - $60,000.00 per year
