What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Controller position at Redeemer Christian School?
The RCS Finance Controller is a vital professional responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. This is a part-time position, with flexible hours.
Duties:
- Manages and ensures quality control of all financial and accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL.
- Perform account reconciliations and analysis
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts
- Prepares and publishes timely monthly financial statements and highlight areas of concern to the Board.Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Manage cash flow and budgeting processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and other legal requirements
- Ensures all Governmental Requirements are fulfilled including: Overseeing Use Tax reports, Annual AZ Corporate Commission report, AZ State Unemployment requirements and reporting, Year end Closeout Forms and that IRS Form 990 is prepared and filed by a qualified CPA.
- Coordinate with payroll company and Principal to ensure HR and EE legal compliance with local, state and federal law
- Oversee tuition management including internal scholarships, ESA, STO program compliance as applied to the RCS financial procedures
- Oversee the performance of the RCS bookkeeper.
-Develops, documents and update business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field
- 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting
- Proficient with QuickBooks/Quickbooks online or other accounting software
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Spanish a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
