What You Can Expect Working in the Licensed Electrician Position
The Licensed Electrician works under the direction of the Production Manager and is responsible for the installation, repair, and testing of electrical systems during the production of blast-resistant buildings and other industrial buildings. As a Licensed Electrician, you are integral in supporting RedGuard’s goal of delivering customers a quality product on time. You may have the opportunity to work in other stages of the manufacturing process, as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
- Inspects electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Plans, layouts and installs electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications, blueprints, and local codes.
- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates.
- Reviews and/or resolves manufacturing problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Maintains current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
- Cross-trains and uses additional trade skills in multiple stages of the manufacturing process as assigned.
- Follows established safety and security rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area and environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid electricians license.
- 5 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience.
- In-depth Knowledge of Electrical systems 12V, 24V, 120/208V, 277/480V.
- Knowledge of single and three-phase systems.
- Understanding of data and fire alarm systems.
- Ability to read complex blueprints or technical drawings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master-level electricians license.

- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.

- Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
