Job Description Summary Sonesta Resort located in Hilton Head Island, SC is seeking a Driver. Job Overview: Drive hotel van or designated vehicles to and from guest destinations and also provide transportation for seasonal temporary employees to and from temporary housing units in a safe and courteous manner. Job Description Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Respond to all guest requests for shuttle service in a prompt and courteous manner; assist guests with luggage while boarding and offloading the vehicle. Transport annual seasonal employees to and from temporary housing units. Operate vehicle in accordance with state laws; observe all airport rules pertaining to shuttle vehicles. Explain and promote hotel facilities, outlets and services to guest and provide information to guests regarding local attractions and activities. Perform daily inspection of vehicles; takes necessary action to correct deficiencies or unsafe conditions; keep vehicle clean and neat at all times. Respond to guest requests and complaints in a prompt and professional manner. Inform supervisor of major problems, complaints, disturbances or dissatisfied guests. Promote team work and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments. May regularly inspect and clear hotel entrance and surrounding areas of litter and debris. May assist with other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent, and one year guest service or driver experience preferred. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred. Valid driver’s license required. This job requires ability to perform the following: Carrying, pushing, or lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds Driving to and from guest and seasonal employee destinations Handling objects such as luggage Bending, stooping, kneeling May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or Holidays The statements in this job description are intended to describe the essential nature and level of work being performed.
