About The Role

As a Senior Engineering Manager for the Post Submit Experience team, you will be reporting to Director, Delivery Experience. You will lead a team of software engineers to build a world class experience for our customers when a cross border money transfer is submitted. You will oversee all aspects of software development working to establish the best technical roadmap and strategy to simultaneously accomplish our goals, improve existing systems, and reduce technical debt. You will demonstrate a high level of partnership with Product Management, Engineering Management, and other company team members, defining strategy by representing technical options and tradeoffs from a customer-centric viewpoint.

You Will

• Provide Technical Leadership and lead complex, long-term, cross-team engineering efforts.
• Partner with product managers to understand requirements, translate these requirements into technical tasks, and ensure the engineering team delivers the expected outcome.
• Set a high bar for planning and execution, including quarterly goals, resource allocation, and prioritization.
• Be a role model in upholding Remitly's cultural values and use them as a framework to mentor other engineers across the company to achieve their full potential.
• Manage the system of work of a product team with a DevOps mindset.
• Make appropriate tradeoffs between schedule, features, and help team take sound technical decisions.
  
  

You Have

• You have a BS (accepted) or MS (Preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• You have been an active and productive member of interview teams
• You are experienced in defining technical designs, paradigms and processes across a team with an understanding of software development practices, system design, software design patterns, and algorithms.
• 5 years of experience building and managing a diverse and empowered teams
• Experience with distributed systems and micro-service architecture in production
• Knowledge of distributed systems architectures and infrastructure.
• An engineering mindset that stays technically curious and engaged in innovation and encourages learning in the team.
• Thoughtful leadership with experience in hiring, coaching and retaining engineering talent with multiple needs for personal and professional growth.
• Partner for product management and engineering leaders, equally passionate about working with engineering and non-engineering team members
  
  

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $194,000-$242,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
