Republic Airways, opportunity elevated. #WhyRepublic POSITION PURPOSE Oversees daily Crew Scheduling operations including the supervision of Crew Schedulers, Crew Support and Crew Scheduling Coordinators. Monitors crew pairings and crew schedules for compliance of all FAA regulations, Union Contracts and Company Policies. Serves as the point person to lead the shift and focus on the operation to maintain operational excellence. ESSENTIAL DUTIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Supervises and assigns daily work tasks to the crew scheduling team and ensures tasks are being completed in a timely manner. Ensures daily checklists are complete and filed nightly. Serves as the primary resource for escalated crewmember calls regarding operational questions or concerns. Ensures compliance with applicable FAA regulations, Union Agreements, and Company Policy. Performs audits of Crew Trac Crewmember and Pairing Exceptions to ensure compliance with all FAR and contract regulations Aids Scheduling Coordinators with monitoring legalities to proactively recrew for operational integrity, maintain FAR legality and contractual compliance of crewmember schedules Oversees daily crewing and basing to ensure maximum utilization and coordinate with the Duty Managers to protect the integrity of the schedule. Works closely with Duty Managers to prepare for and recover from Irregular Operations. Assists in identifying strategic cancellations in order to confine operational impact to one day whenever possible. Serves as primary point of contact for crewmembers in need of day off restoration due to Irregular Operations. Assists Training Coordinator with competency checks throughout the team. Ensures all schedulers are proficient in performing the assigned tasks, and coaches and retrains as needed, identifying trends to communicate with Training Coordinator. Assists with Flica system stability and a support source for the Crew Support Schedulers. Assists Managers in maintaining department staffing needs, schedules, absences, and payroll in RosterApps and Workday. Communicates with the Flight Information Coordinators and monitors Delay Tracker for accurate coding of Crew Scheduling delays and other delays related to crew rest, crew connection, and sick calls. Collaborates with crewmember training departments to schedule required training events for crew members. Ensures all members of the Crew Scheduling team uphold Republic’s Guiding Principles and RJet Navigator policies at all times. Fosters an environment of teamwork amongst all shifts. Drives improvements in the daily operation through cross-functional problem solving and collaboration with other departments. Fosters a positive and professional relationship with Inflight and Pilot unions. Assists with hiring and onboarding of new Crew Schedulers. Coaches and provides leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of Crew Scheduling team. Provides performance feedback, take corrective action and oversee training and development of staff. Provides leadership training for employees transitioning to Coordinator roles. Performs other duties as assigned or required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE. High school diploma or general education degree (GED). At least one year crew scheduling experience with FAR 117 and FAR 121. Knowledge of airline operations federal, state and local rules and regulations. Strong knowledge and experience with Sabre and other aviation related software systems. Able to utilize Microsoft Office applications. PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in related field Previous supervisory experience Experience with crew scheduling systems Experience in a call center environment. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization. REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to understand and work at an abstract level and utilize technology as a tool to solve complex scheduling problems. DECISION MAKING Makes decisions daily on use of resources, performance and budgets. Decisions could require additional expenditure of resources if not sound decisions.
