What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitor position at Retirement Housing Foundation?
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Detailed cleaning of all public areas, restrooms, & storage areas of the building. Washing windows, dusting all furniture & fixtures. May assist Maintenance in apartment preparation, yard work, snow removal, painting, wall washing, shampooing carpet & upholstery on an as needed basis.
- Clean, sweep, mop floors.
- Sweep and clean walks and drive adjacent to outdoor area.
- Check public restrooms. Empty trash, clean lavatories, stools, mirrors, and replenish all supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap).
- Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Clean empty apartments (kitchens, windows, baths, etc.) so they are ready for new residents.
- Complete visual check of grounds and clean up if necessary and empty trash bins, ash trays.
- Clean all common glass on the windows and entry doors.
- Sweep all entry ways.
- Clean trash room. Floor to be mopped with soap, hot water, and deodorized.
- Vacuum all carpeted hallways – rotate floors each day.
- Clean laundry rooms.
- Clean stairwells – clean handrails and all stairwell doors.
- Clean and vacuum elevator.
- Clean Manager’s Office – vacuum office, clean windows, sill areas, and blinds. Empty trash containers, dust furniture and filing cabinets.
