Position Overview
The Human Resources performs related office work such as maintaining personnel files, preparing time sheets for payroll, filing worker's compensation, disability, and unemployment claims, monitoring recruitment information and assisting with project work which is deemed appropriate by the Human Resources Manager. You could be assigned to assisting business office as needed.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for all payroll record keeping requirements and the personnel files for the staff at the Reutlinger.
- Verifies employee eligibility for benefits, responds to employee inquiries regarding benefits, and assists employees in conversion of benefits during and after leave of absence and on termination of employment.
- Is responsible for scheduling health screen exams, physical capabilities tests, drug and alcohol screen, orientation meetings, and benefit meetings.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all policies, procedures and benefits related to human resources and is able to impart such knowledge to both supervisors and staff.
- Processes all disability, workers' compensation and unemployment claims with accuracy and timeliness. Compiles and maintains an up-to-date workers' compensation claims file and OSHA injury report.
- Assists the Business Office Manager as needed.
- Handles confidential information appropriately.
- Assists in other human resource activities such as placing recruitment advertisements, onboarding, open enrollment activities, employee engagement activities, coordinating background screening, responding to employment inquiries and verifications, sending out responses to applicants.
Qualifications
Education:
Must be a graduate from High School or equivalent G.E.D. College level courses in bookkeeping, accounting, personnel management and psychology are desirable. Human resources required
Training and Experience:
Minimum one year experience in payroll/bookkeeping. One to two years experience in a human resource department required.
Job Knowledge: Human Resources a must!!
Demonstrates knowledge of general office practices and procedures with an understanding of general bookkeeping and payroll procedures and has the ability to use office equipment and operate PC with knowledge of related software. Knowledge of EDD rules and regulations regarding personnel and knowledge of workers' compensation and state disability regulations.
The final candidate must successfully pass The Reutlinger Community's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test, health screen with or without back evaluation depending on position.

Pay: $22.43 - $33.41 per hour
