Job Description
Work in grain processing, oil extraction, refining, bleaching, and deodorization of vegetable oil(s), and packaging and shipping of food safe soy and rice oil. The Engineer’s responsibilities will include working and serving in a plant, process, and project engineer capacity for all areas under the Stuttgart Soy Division authority. The induvial will be able to provide technical expertise and problem-solving skills on multifarious components involved from the grain preparation of Soybeans and Rice Collets to crude oil extraction and refining, to deodorization and packing of food safe oil, to boiler operations, and to automation and/or programming of equipment. The qualified Engineer will be tasked with achieving goals such as cost reduction, efficiency improvements, reduction of carbon footprints, implementation of green-works initiatives, analyzing and researching best designs for operations, and development and implementation of process systems related to the overall process flow.

Job Duties
- Adhere to workplace safety and corporate/division policies.
- Provide engineering expertise in the evaluation, selection, installation, and implementation of operating systems of new or existing machinery and equipment.
- Create project budgets and calculate ROI scenarios with the understanding of priority for each department within the division.
- Team player with an understanding of working with other division and corporate engineer(s), division management staff, and departmental operators and technicians.
- Leading technical training as needed.
- Being a resource for department managers and general personnel with production and processing opportunities.
- Understanding regulatory compliance documents; comprehending the requirements to implement as needed within the division processes.
- Collaborate with key personnel in continuing overall improvements to environmental factors.
- Support determination arrangements of operations such as crushing, extraction, pump flow, refining, acidulation, chemical flow, water treatment, boiler operations, diatomaceous earth addition and flow, steam injection, and robotic and automation control.
- Stay current with new and developing technologies providing advancement to the division technical process.
- Regularly consult and maintain relationships with industry experts, engineers, vendors, contractors, and regulatory compliance officers when necessary.
- Be available to communicate and respond to plant emergencies, plant downtime(s), and system failure troubleshooting.
- Perform confined space work, hot-work, and work requiring man-lift assistance.
- Conduct and analyze research, perform in design and creation programs, and manage projects as division needs and budgeting allow.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred)
- Other Engineering disciplines with a bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience in oilseed processing and refining will be considered.
- Experience with Microsoft Programing
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Time-Management and Self-initiative Skillset
- Work well under time-sensitive projects.
- Ability to track, understand, and implement best course of action of multiple data reports daily.
- Ability to seek assistance when needed.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills for maintaining projects.
- Maintain frequent contact with RFI employees at the division level and corporate level.
- Able to professionally speak and present in front of groups during training or corporate/division meetings.
- Able to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out assignments and special projects.
- Must be able to wear all necessary Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) related to jobsite.
