What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant County Engineer position at Richland County Government?
The purpose of the class is to perform professional civil engineering work in the design, development, review and/or coordination of County road paving and resurfacing projects; to manage State “C” Grant funds and federal entitlement funds for transportation, drainage and sidewalk projects; to assist with other County capital improvement projects, and to perform related work as required. This class works within broad policy and organizational guidelines and does independent planning and implementation, reporting progress of major activities through periodic conferences and meetings.
Requires a Bachelor's degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in civil engineering or closely related field.
Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Must possess or obtain Professional Engineer registration in the state of South Carolina within six months of hire date.
Requires a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
