Job Description
Richmond Community Services, a leading non-profit provider of support services for Westchester County's developmentally, intellectually and behaviorally challenged individuals, is currently seeking a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) for a temporary 3-month position.
MUST be a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional as defined by the NYS OPWDD. Candidates without this experience/certification cannot be considered for this position.
Position Summary
Collaborates with all members of the Person-Centered Team to ensure dignity, opportunity and community for all people.
Empowers the people we support to make personal choices and realize dreams by developing plans to evaluate individual need; identifies necessary resources and applies appropriate supports to encourage the people we serve to live a lifestyle which is personally meaningful.
Coordinates and facilitates circle meetings for individuals. Remains current with literature and research in the field of developmental disabilities with a focus on empirically based and data driven practices aligned with the Council on Quality and Leadership and OPWDD regulations.
The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) demonstrates knowledge of Richmond’s quality mission, vision, and values. In addition, this position actively participates in quality improvement projects (i.e. communicating issues, offering suggestions) to ensure ongoing excellence of Richmond residents, staff, and programs.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Bachelors in the field of Psychology or related field, Master’s Degree preferred.
* Experience in behavioral or clinical field with persons with developmental disabilities.
* Valid New York State license with vehicle to transport self to cover assigned projects and tasks
