What are the responsibilities and job description for the Handyman/Handywoman position at Riverstone Communities?
Pay Rate: $16.00 - $18.50 per hour (based on skills/experience**)
Handyman/Handywoman/Maintenance Technician 2 Job Duties:
- Attend daily morning staff meetings to communicate goals and objectives
- Oversee the curb appeal and maintenance of the community and make sure it is up to Riverstone Communities’ standards
- Picking up trash around the community
- Regular groundskeeping such as lawn mowing, planting, weeding/weed eating, etc
- Residential repairs, rehabilitations and home cleanouts including replacing/installing floors, installing siding and skirting, installing/replacing doors and windows and painting
- Diagnosing and repairing residential water/sewer leaks
- Read and replace water meters (if applicable to your property)
- Replace breakers, fuses, light switches
- Build stairs and ramps, frame doors and windows, install landscaping timbers
- Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems
- Capability to complete day to day duties with minimal supervision
- Complete maintenance work orders in an efficient and timely manner
- Adhere to all safety laws and regulations
- Conduct regular inventory checks on equipment and supplies
- Work with your manager to help coordinate food banks and resident events to help support our mission
Handyman/Handywoman/Maintenance Technician 2 Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in multi-family or commercial property maintenance OR a technical degree in one of the following fields:
- Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, HVAC
- Provide current certifications earned: refrigerant license, CPO, OSHA Safety, boiler license, etc. (Preferred)
- Ability to be very active - walking, bending, standing and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Willing to work outside in all weather conditions
- Complete general maintenance and repair work as needed
- Basic computer skills, i.e. email and internet
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle (drive to different locations on the property) with a valid driver’s license
- Be comfortable with heights
- Residential plumbing and electrical
- Residential painting (interior and exterior)
- Roofing and carpentry skills
- Mechanical (replacing door locks and handles)
- Drywall and mudding
**Specific maintenance knowledge/skills will be tested for accuracy.
