Controller

Our client that is based in the NJ/NY area is seeking an experienced and skilled Controller that has experience working out of small companies and are very hands on. This is a fully remote position; however, the candidate must live within the NY/NJ area. Other candidates will not be considered. This Controller will oversee the financial operations of the company. This leadership role involves managing key financial processes, optimizing efficiency, and contributing to the strategic financial goals of the organization. This is a high transactional business and coming from a similar environment is critical to this Controller having success in this role.

As the Controller you will lead and manage the following financial activities:

• Billing: Ensure timely and accurate invoicing to maintain seamless revenue operations.
• Collections: Drive strategies to enhance cash flow and reduce overdue receivables.
• Accounts Payable: Oversee efficient and timely vendor payments while maintaining strong vendor relationships.

Beyond core financial tasks, this role includes strategic planning to improve processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, delivering insightful financial reporting to support decision-making, and mentoring the accounting team.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will bring:

• 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a company generating annual revenues between the $20-40 million dollar range.
• Expertise in managing billing, collections, and accounts payable with a proven ability to optimize these processes.
• Strong leadership experience, including team management and mentoring skills.
• Proficiency in financial systems, coupled with knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements.
• Outstanding analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities to drive results and support organizational goals.
