Robert Half has partnered with a growing organization in the Coppell TX area looking for a Payroll Specialist for a long-term contract to permanent opportunity. As the Payroll Specialist, you will handle tasks such as:• Responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system. • Reviews the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy. • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions. • Process wage garnishments.• Prepares required tax filings and other reporting. • Coordinate payroll processing with an outside service provider for roughly 500 employees on a weekly and bi-weekly basis.• Payroll starts on Friday, Monday and Tuesday, the rest of the week will be dedicated to light HR duties. • Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting. • Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly. • Researches and resolves errors or omissions. • May prepare and submit reports and forms required by IRS or other regulatory bodies. • Follows all processing procedures, adheres to policies, and maintains confidentiality.• Workday experience is a PLUS, but other knowledge of payroll software will help. • Will help with light HR duties such as onboarding – must be able to help present in front of a small class for orientation. • Other duties as assigned to assist co-workers.Additional information includes: Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8-5, in-office.
