Your responsibilities in this role
- Back the monitoring and maintaining of internal accounting controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Offer insight to ensuring adequate controls and procedures
- Play a part in the groundwork of monthly financial reporting and other business data
- Aid in mixed aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis, variance analysis)
- Centralize and resolve budgets and income statement forecasts
- Assess conclusive results at the corporate and division levels
- Be able to clarify to non-financial staff members complicated financial subjects in special projects
- Survey and query an extensive amounts of data
- Implement productive alternatives and solutions to reduce costs and enhance financial performance of a company
- Assist in annual budgeting process
- Aid internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits
Requirements
- Less than one year of experience preferred
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Competent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, as well as databases and customer database systems
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel
- Comprehensive knowledge of MicroStrategy Reports
- Alteryx experience required
- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
- Practical knowledge in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
