Property Accountant

We are in the process of recruiting a Property Accountant to join our team in the real estate and property industry. This role is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and involves a variety of financial management tasks related to property accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately manage financial records and reports
• Execute monthly financial statement preparations and annual closings
• Carry out bank and general ledger reconciliations
• Manage operating expense reconciliations and budgets
• Prepare journal entries as part of the financial management process
• Use accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel to perform accounting functions
• Ensure accurate account coding and perform accrual accounting tasks
• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Conduct audits as part of financial control measures
• Utilize ADP - Financial Services, AMSI, and AppFolio for efficient financial management.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Property Accountant role or similar within the Real Estate & Property industry
• Proficient in Account Coding and able to handle complex account structures
• Experienced in using Accounting Software Systems for financial management and reporting
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services, AMSI, and AppFolio software
• A strong understanding of Accounting Functions, including but not limited to financial forecasting and budgeting
• Demonstrated experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting principles and procedures
• Experience in Auditing, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.
