Our non-profit client in Emeryville is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for a 6 month engagement. In this collaborative role, you will oversee financial operations related to external funding awards, including federal, state, and private support. This position requires a deep understanding of financial compliance, reporting, and complex cost-sharing models in alignment with regulatory standards. The pay for this role is expected to be $65 - $80/hr. DOE and location. Local consultants are expected to work 3-days/week on-site in Emeryville. Remote consultants will travel initially and as needed.Responsibilities:• Develop and manage detailed budgets for federal, state, and other external awards, ensuring compliance with program objectives and funding requirements• Analyze payroll projections and track staffing utilization to ensure accurate program expense management• Conduct regular audits of timekeeping systems to confirm proper allocation and booking of expenses• Provide technical guidance to program teams on budget preparation, financial reporting, and award management• Monitor and track award spending to ensure alignment with funding terms, resolving discrepancies when necessary• Prepare and submit reimbursement requests to funding agencies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness• Create detailed financial reports for funders, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of expenditures• Negotiate indirect cost rates with members and subrecipients, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards• Maintain thorough documentation for all financial transactions and communications with funders• Utilize automated financial systems and tools to generate reports, conduct variance analyses, and support decision-making
