Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department by handling a variety of accounting functions. This role involves reconciliation, journal entries, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll assistance, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close support. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconciliation: Perform bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments. Handle AP-related queries and resolve any discrepancies.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Manage customer invoicing, track payments, and handle collections as needed. Reconcile AR accounts and resolve any billing issues.
- Payroll Assistance: Assist with payroll processing, including data entry, verifying timesheets, and addressing payroll-related inquiries.
- General Ledger: Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
- Month-End Close Support: Support month-end closing activities by preparing and reviewing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with financial analysis.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Assist with audits and other financial reviews as required.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports to provide insights and support decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a large private company.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
