What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Roche Bros. Supermarkets?
The Accounting Clerk provides support to the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes including, but not limited to, vouchering and filing of vendor invoices on a timely basis and in accordance with company policies and procedures, opening and sorting mail, and assisting with the administration of accounts receivable. This position reports directly to the Accounts Payable Supervisor with dotted line responsibility to the Accounts Receivable Assistant.
Minimum Qualifications:- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. (Some college credits preferred.)
- Minimum of 3 years prior accounts payable experience in a high volume environment.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently.
- Must have the ability to understand and follow English directions.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Word.
- Experience with MS Dynamics GP (formally Great Plains) is an asset.
- Self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task, dead-line driven environment
- Ability to work with people of various backgrounds, personality traits and levels of authority to accomplish department and Company goals.
- Successful completion of pre-employment/promotion drug screen and or criminal background check. (Timeline must fall within Company guidelines.)
Responsibilities:
- Verify receipt of material or services/confirmation of receipt of material or services.
- Check accuracy of employee reimbursement expenses before processing.
- Daily entering of invoices into ERP system (MS Dynamics GP) for payments ensuring correct approval, coding and matching.
- Reconcile vendor statements.
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain excellent relations with vendors and company associates.
- Ensure compliance to Company policies and procedures.
- Assist Accounts Receivable Clerk with issuing monthly statements to our vendors and customers.
- Assist Accounts Receivable Clerk with maintaining, entering, reconciling and filing daily charges from customers.
SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide general support to the Accounting Department.
- Cover switchboard as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned by Management or the Company.
- Practice the “Golden Rule” and work well with all associates as a team.
- Work in a style that is Respectful, Supportive, and Team-oriented (RSTO).
- Respond promptly to all phone calls and letters.
