We have an exciting opportunity for a Accounting Assistant to join our Finance/Accounting team at our Houston, TX office. Strong Excel skills are a must, ability to work with geographically diverse locations along with excellent communication and attention to detail.
Requirements:
Support Sr. Accountant in the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements.
Assist in preparing and posting credit card statements, bank statements, account reconciliations, monthly financial close and related activities, cash flow forecasts.
1. Bank Reconciliations and Credit Card Reconciliations
2. Issuing PO's in QuickBooks.
3. Comparison of Estimates and Actual cost and weekly reporting of variances.
4. Insurance proofs.
5. Supporting AP AND AR matters.
6. Keeping commercial files of projects.
7. Checklist preparation like customer application, credit check, tax exempt certs, Signed POs, Price sheet and continuous analysis of cost and closure of projects.
Accounts Receivable - Review status of delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection action by contacting customers. Responsible for assertive, but professional and courteous collection calls. (This is not a "collection call" in the retail sense).
Proficiency in QuickBooks (desktop version)
Qualifications:
3-5 Years of experience in Accounting.
BS/BA degree in Accounting preferred. Minimum associate degree in Accounting.
A strong understanding of an industrial/manufacturing environment
Must have excellent interpersonal skills (phone & email) and thrive in a fast-paced office environment.
