About Us:
The Round Lake Area Park District Dance Program is dedicated to fostering a love for dance in our community. We offer high-quality instruction for students of all ages and abilities in an inclusive, encouraging, and creative environment. Our program features a variety of dance styles and we are expanding to include more diverse offerings.
Position Overview:
We are seeking passionate and skilled Dance Instructors to join our team! Ideal candidates will have experience teaching multiple dance styles and a commitment to inspiring students of all levels and ages. We are open to various styles, including but not limited to:
- Ballet
- Jazz
- Tap
- Hip-Hop
- Contemporary/Modern
- Ballroom
- Cultural/World Dance

Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach engaging, age-appropriate, and skill-appropriate dance classes.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students.
- Choreograph routines for performances and recitals as needed.
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and program staff.
- Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
Qualifications:
- Background in dance with experience in at least two or more styles preferred.
- Previous teaching experience required (experience working with children and teens is a plus).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to various skill levels and learning styles.
- Availability for evening and/or weekend classes.
