Position Details
- Organizes, coordinates, implements, and monitors RBS IDEA programs, initiatives, and projects that fall under the RBS IDEA Office
- Assists in the recruiting, engagement, retention, academic success, and professional development of students from historically underrepresented and underserved backgrounds
- Administers the following programs: RBS NextUP, RBS PREP, RBS B-STAR, RBS C.E.O. Network, as well as future programs and initiatives within the purview of the RBS IDEA Office to be established
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of projects, planning, preparation, evaluation, communications, events, records, statistics, program reports, and documents
- Develops processes, evaluates program effectiveness and identifies and recruits additional program resources
- Oversees advertising and executes recruitment strategy to increase student engagement and involvement in RBS IDEA programs
- Develops and maintains a master schedule of all programs and activities
- Manages the daily operational procedures of the RBS IDEA Office, including student meetings, collecting and maintaining accurate records and student data for use in various departmental reports
- Runs, updates, and maintains RBS IDEA Office webpages
- Oversees the production of electronic and printed marketing materials
- Develops and maintains social media and software platforms to enhance communications with current students, prospective students, and internal/external stakeholders
- Must also be able to manage other duties as assigned throughout the year demonstrating the capability to synthesize new information and use it to create positive change
- Ability and willingness to travel to off-campus events, and businesses in the NY/NJ metro area is required
- This position will require frequent evening and weekend hours

- Requires a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates a deep knowledge and understanding of program design and execution, coordination, organization, facilitation, data collection, general research principles and practices, report analysis, writing, social media networking, and promotion/outreach.
- Also requires a minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function that includes coordination of work and management of people; good communication skills; and computer literacy.
- Knowledge of major academic and diversity issues with a demonstrated, clear understanding of the importance of a diverse and inclusive environment in a higher education setting.
- Knowledge of EEO practices in a higher education.
- Requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function. Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills are necessary.
- Ability to work well individually as well as on the team and represent the RBS IDEA Office, Rutgers Business School, and Rutgers University professionally and enthusiastically.
- A firm understanding of academic support services is required. Must be self-motivated, detailed-oriented, and be able to interact effectively with diverse populations including students, high-level administrators, and business professionals.
- Requires the ability to work cooperatively with others, manage multiple priorities and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Firm understanding of and experience working with issues related to under-represented minority groups, underserved K-12 school districts and services.
