Job Overview:

Schedulers handle the booking of appointments for various medical services, including consultations, procedures, and follow-up visits. They may schedule appointments for both new and existing patients

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School diploma
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial for interacting with patients and healthcare professional
• Experience with electronic health record systems and scheduling software is often required

Preferred:

• Bilingual preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift-9:30am-5:30pm
• Monday-Friday
• Full Time-Day

Essential Functions:

• They coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth scheduling and efficient use of resources
• This includes managing calendars, resolving conflicts, and communicating any changes to the schedules
• Schedulers are responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information in the system
• This may involve updating patient demographics, insurance information, and appointment details
• They interact with patients via phone, email, or in person, answering inquiries, providing information about appointments, and addressing any concerns or issues
• Schedulers may also perform various administrative tasks, such as processing insurance information, handling payments, and managing patient check-in and check-out procedures
• Schedulers need to be organized and able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate records
• They should be able to provide excellent customer service, handle patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism, and resolve any issues that may arises
• Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is helpful for scheduling appointments and understanding patient need
• In essence, a healthcare scheduler plays a vital role in the smooth functioning of a healthcare facility, ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate care while also supporting the efficiency of the healthcare team
