What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telemetry Technician, Telemetry Services position at RWJBarnabas Health?
Job Overview:
The Telemetry Technician oversees the cardiac monitor for arrhythmias and changes in rhythm.
The Telemetry Unit is a 38-bed, team-oriented unit that provides a wide variety of Medical/Surgical and diagnostic services to a diverse cardiac population i.e. congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, respiratory compromise and dysrhythmias.
Qualifications:
Required:
HS Diploma or equivalent
Completion of a Medical Assisting, CNA, related technical education course, completion of Fundamentals of Nursing course, or hospital based telemetry technician experience
Preferred:
- At least one year of telemetry/monitoring work experience
- Certified completion of ECG or telemetry course including Rhythm / Arrhythmia identification
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Certified Telemetry Technician
Scheduling Requirements:
- Shift working, 8:00 4:30pm each day
- FT
Essential Functions:
- Analyzes rhythm, calculates cardiac
- Rhythm measurements and report changes
- Enters accurate information of individual patient to telemetry monitor system
- Discharge patient from system as directed by RN
