SUMMARY

The Cyber Security role ensures the secure technology operation of Sahara Las Vegas and Sahara Bets computer systems, servers, mobile devices, BYOD devices and network connections. This includes but is not limited to checking server and firewall logs, scrutinizing network traffic, establishing and updating virus scans, and troubleshooting. This person will also analyze and resolve security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and conduct user activity audits where required.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices.
  • Assess the need and execute for any cyber security configurations. These include but are not limited to the implementation of penetration testing. Will proactively participate in change and incident management process.
  • Keep current with emerging security alerts on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of cyber security.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform cyber security improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.
  • Assist in the deployment, management and maintenance of all systems and associated software, including firewalls, IDS, cryptography systems, and endpoint protection.
  • Audit and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Configure and report on cyber security systems and all audits.
  • Monitor server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interpret activity and make recommendations for resolution.
  • Recommend, schedule (where appropriate), and apply fixes, security patches, disaster recovery procedures, and any other measures required in the event of a security breach.
  • Be competent in operation of SIEM, Firewalls, Sandbox, Analyzers and all other security appliances.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Must have working knowledge of security concepts and strategies, including network, Internet, and platform security.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment towards successful results for the company. Requires technical, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills are required in order to communicate to all levels within the company and vendors.
  • Proven expertise in handling user problems and vendor relationships.
  • Comfortable with operating high-end security appliances, sandbox technology, cyber-security, firewall configurations, data encryption and log analytics.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS PREFERRED

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications in Security , GIAC, CISCO, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

A qualified candidate will be able to provide a proven track record of success in executing each responsibility satisfactorily. Must be able to listen and respond to client and management inquiries in a positive and professional manner.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to accurately communicate reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. A high level understanding of interpersonal skills to productively deal with business contacts and team members at all levels of the company. Possess a strong attention to detail and engaging presentation skills. Has the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff, clients, and general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure and calculate figures and amounts. Such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Excellent time management, problem solving, and organizational skills are a must


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate. Effective time management and multi-tasking abilities are a must. A successful candidate must possess the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. A professional appearance is required.

Is regularly required to sit; stand; walk and move through all areas of the casino; speak and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. May reach with hands and arms above shoulder level; bend/stoop, squat, balance, kneel, lift and push/pull. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance visions, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
