What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Verification Specialist position at Saint Louis Counseling?
The mission of Saint Louis Counseling, a ministry of Catholic Charities of St. Louis, is to bring the healing, help and hope of Jesus Christ to those in need with a compassionate, caring presence.
Responsible to provide dedicated support to patients for activities related to benefit coverage, payments, reimbursements, denials.
· Review all patient insurance information needed to complete the benefit verification process.
· Document the benefits for each patient and obtain updated information when necessary.
· Verify the patient’s healthcare benefits and coverage levels to make sure the services and procedures required for the patient are covered by their insurance.
· Obtain any pre-authorizations/pre-determinations of benefits for treatment.
· Communicate with patients to inform them of their estimated out of pocket payment responsibilities.
· Follow up on any claim denials or rejections.
· Collect and submit third party payment when applicable.
High School Diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare billing is preferred; One-year experience handling medical insurance claims verifications and denials.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
