Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Content Creator and Social Media Coordinator in University Marketing and Communications.
Primary Job Duties: Create compelling written and visual marketing content to tell Salisbury University's story across a variety of platforms, including University social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube, etc. Capture quality video footage and still photos to support storytelling. Support content creation for other digital and formats, including webpages, email marketing, advertising and publications. Support Search Engine Optimization (SEO) efforts. Generate multimedia marketing content that is consistent with SU's goals, brand and messaging. Develop shareable written and visual content that drives audience engagement. Lead content management by drafting, editing and scheduling social media posts. Work collaboratively on content creation with Marketing and Communications team members. Provide regular analytics and tracking related to social media content, and support social media monitoring, as needed. Network with other communicators across campus on social content and brand building. Leverage the power of storytelling to reach and influence a variety of important audiences for SU. Be passionate about telling SU's stories, developing new ideas and driving SU's brand forward into tomorrow.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, English, Journalism or related field and 5-7 years of related experience.
Demonstrated ability to manage and/or create compelling social media content. Experience with video production and photography, and related equipment and processes for capturing imagery and telling stories. Required experience with Mac operating system, Adobe Creative Suite, and video/photo editing softwares.
Excellent writing skills and creativity, and highly organized. Thoughtful, concise and persuasive communication skills. Ability to confront hurdles with a calm, positive mindset and a sense of confidence. Ability to find creative solutions without close supervision. Ability to improve processes for efficiency. This position may require some night and weekend work as needed.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
This is a full-time exempt State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
