What are the responsibilities and job description for the Acute Care Registered Nurse Pool position at SalusCare, Inc?
All Registered nurses working at the CSU are qualified and may be asked to work all nursing positions within in CSU, this is to include but not limited to the children’s unit, adult charge and medication nurse. All registered nurses may be asked to “float” to a different position within the CSU as needed, this includes the assessment nurse, medication nurse, charge nurse, and children’s nurse. Also, as Acute Care Nurses they may be asked to work at Detox.
Consistently provide treatment in accordance with physician orders and person-centered treatment plans. This includes, but is not limited to completing the nursing assessment and/or the administration of medication as prescribed by the providers orders and according to competency and consent regulations. Report any side effects or complaints to the charge nurse and/or physician.
Accurately documents provided nursing care and behavioral observations in the patient’s clinical record throughout each shift.
Initiates restraints or seclusion and provides documentation according to unit policies and procedures. This shall also include participating in the debriefing process after a patient has been restrained and/or placed in seclusion.
Responsible for implementation and coordination of functions related to the delivery of CSU nursing/medical treatments. These functions include the review of any and all hospital documentation to ensure that any patient presenting to the CSU that were transferred from a hospital do not meet any exclusionary criteria as well as for those patient returning from the hospital after being sent out to be medically cleared to ensure that any prescriptions are ordered and any medical barriers have been solved for a safe admission to the CSU.
Requires a valid Florida RN Licensure and Nursing Degree. Basic computer skills and good communication skills required. Previous detoxification experience and knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities preferred. Requires the ability to attain competency with the company electronic medical records and use it effectively within the required time frames.
