What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Assistant position at Samaritan Health?
Pay Range:
Days: $15.00-$16.56
Evenings: $16.10-$17.66
Nights: $16.50-$18.06
All evening and night shifts include shift differentials.
The base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. Shift differentials have been included in the range. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity and contracts.
· Assists Director of Activities or Director of Social Adult Daycare in executing the residents' activities or daycare programs.
· Assists in the planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of activities, which meet the needs of the resident/registrants while also stimulating their physical and mental capabilities.
· Understands and uses the principles of growth and development to assess each resident/registrants age specific needs and provides age specific treatment and care.
· Leads large and small group functions and may meet with residents/registrants on a one-to-one basis.
· Reports on each resident's progress to program Director.
· Assists Director in working with volunteers and community resource persons.
· May need to work beyond scheduled hours when necessary and possible weekends.
· Must have experience in personal care skills, body mechanics, behavior management and be CPR certified.
High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree in related field preferred or relevant equivalent work experience. Must have a willingness and aptitude for working with a variety of people. Must have a basic understanding of the needs of the elderly and those in needs of long term care services. Must have a basic knowledge of a variety of activities. Demonstrates above average imagination, creativity, spirit of cooperation and friendly personality are required.
