What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist position at Samaritan Healthcare?
Do you have a keen eye for details and are a master at managing deadlines? We are seeking a Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist for our Samaritan Healthcare community in sunny, Moses Lake, Washington! In this role, you will perform credentialing and re-credentialing privileging activities of all providers and practitioners including physicians, mid-level practitioners; including a detailed review of documents and data. The Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist also prepares for and supports a variety of Medical Staff meetings, and provides support to the Medical Staff Services Department and Medical Staff Leaders. A keen eye for detail, excellent time management, and efficient organizational skills are desired. The individual in this position reports to the Chief Medical Officer.
The Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of Medical Staff Services along with having the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates. A successful incumbent would display a high level of diplomacy when interfacing with customers and maintain a high regard for ethics and professionalism. After training is completed, this position may have the option of being remote. This is a part-time 24 hrs/wk, day position.

Which Qualifications Do You Need?
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education in the secretarial field or related business field preferred.
- Excellent Internet knowledge, word processing, and database management to include knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Credentialing software systems.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in a Medical Staff Office preferred.
- Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.
Please Note: April 11th through May 10th are time-off blackout dates for training and go-live of our EPIC EMR. Time off will be limited to extenuating circumstances.
