Position

SAS has an opening for an IT Help Desk Technician.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Repair, install, and upgrade PC hardware and peripherals.
  • Provide users with PC, desktop application, and network access technical support including on-site and off-site visits.
  • Run and terminate Ethernet and telephony wiring drops as needed.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot printers, both networked and stand-alone.
  • Troubleshoot a variety of hardware, application, and network problems.
  • Have a customer service focus, a proven ability to provide timely support to fellow employees and be capable of determining when to escalate issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic technical hardware and software issues.
  • Perform other duties and projects in IT and/or facility maintenance as assigned.

Job Qualifications 

Technical

  • Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and Mac OS
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Outlook, as well as familiarity with other business and desktop applications.
  • Strong PC hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Be able to perform maintenance and troubleshooting on LaserJet and inkjet printers, both stand-alone and networked.
  • Good understanding of LAN technologies, as well as the ability to troubleshoot issues on a TCP/IP network.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and terminate Ethernet wiring.
  • Working knowledge of basic PBX telephony (66 blocks, wiring).
  • Familiarity with wiring equipment.
  • Experience with Point of Sale systems.
  • Help Desk experience in a help desk or technical support role.

  • Must have ability to exercise confidentiality.
  • Excellent job performance and attendance.
  • Able to travel to San Antonio or Acuna, if needed, so must have a passport
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Education & Experience Requirements 

  • 2 years of related technical experience required. 
  • A certification and/or MCP preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing plant and retail experience a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a strong plus.
