The Innovation and Technology Department is recruiting for Telecom System Specialists* who review, evaluate, program, and make recommendations on telephone services for new and existing county facilities. These positions are located at the Innovation and Technology Department (ITD) main office in San Bernardino and will primarily provide remote customer support over the phone and/or email with occasional site visits as needed.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Incumbent must successfully complete a background investigation (fingerprinting and work history/education check) in addition to a job-related physical exam, including a drug test.
Travel: Travel throughout the county may be required. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years, within the last six (6) years, of telecommunications experience with primary responsibility for planning, programming, troubleshooting, implementing, and recommending computerized telephone switching systems, including voice mail.
Experience must be with an employer that utilizes large VoIP telephone systems and/or multiple PBX switches. Such experience should be clearly demonstrated on the application.

Desired Qualifications
Education in communication technology, certifications in Cisco voice solutions, and experience with VoIP, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Call Center applications, and VXTracker Telecom Management system is highly desirable.
