Community Facilitator

San Diego Community Living Services aims to assist persons with disabilities by providing each participant with the highest level of support and assistance. Our services are designed to create an opportunity for participants to build a partnership with service providers and develop self-reliance.

Independent Living Services: A program designed to help participants to live independently. The Independent Living Services program includes assistance with finding a place for participants to live and providing training to assist with skills so that participants are able to maintain an independent life. A San Diego Community Living Services instructor will support, counsel, and train participants in their own home.Skills emphasized range from: budgeting, household chores, meal planning, shopping, making appointments, accessing community services/activities, and more. As independence with tasks increases, staff will help with other tasks as old goals and training for already learned skills are phased out.

Tailored Day Services: Tailored day services offers a variety of opportunities to experience different settings for activities that may enhance crucial skills needed to be successful, and integrated in our community.One-on-One Tailored Day Services include: Employment Opportunities Participant has the opportunity for voluntary or paid work in the community.

Required experience:

• Social Service or Related Field: 1 year
• Must be able to travel around San Diego to work.
• Working with individuals with Disabilities: 1 year

Required license or certification:

• Driver's License
• Insurance (Full Coverage 100k to 300k Bodily injury)

Required education:

• High school or equivalent
• College education preferred'
