Description
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for providing security services that ensure the safety and security of employees and members while on Credit Union property and in use of Credit Union facilities. Works under the daily direction of the VP of Retail Experience and Regional Branch Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Patrols all assigned Credit Union facility and parking lot areas, maintaining high visibility at all times.

Appropriately acts on threats or potential threats to employee or member security.

Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors and vehicles.

Maintains awareness of surroundings without distracting Credit Union personnel from their responsibilities.

Conducts emergency procedures.

Assists in the investigation of crimes committed at/against Sandia Area Federal Credit Union.

Assist in evicting trespassers and violators, using the appropriate force when necessary in detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive.

Retrieves video of incidents/issues or timeframes as requested/specified by management.

Ensures that the Human Resources Manager is kept fully informed on any security-related incidents via written incident reports.

Meets deadlines as assigned and directed.

Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for members and employees consistent with the Credit Union’s mission and philosophy.

Maintains the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records.

Respond to emergency situations to provide necessary assistance to employees and members.

Remain in compliance and up to date with local, state, and federal regulations.

Understands and agrees to abide by the policies and procedures established by Sandia Area Federal Credit Union and federal and state legal and regulatory guidelines, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), as applicable to this position.

Performs additional duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to operate monitoring, alarm, surveillance, and recording equipment.

Must be certified to carry and operate a handgun or other weapon.

Must be skilled in the appropriate use of force.

Appropriate communication and interpersonal skills are required to work effectively with employees, members and visitors.

Must be able to lift, push or pull 50 pounds.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED required.

Graduation from the Albuquerque Police Academy, New Mexico State Law Enforcement Academy, or other equivalent law enforcement training.
