POSITION DESCRIPTION BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of a permit teacher/site supervisor, provide instruction to individuals, small groups, or large groups of Child Development students, monitor and report student progress in a classroom or other learning environment.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Be able to organize groups and lead learning activities for students. E
Monitor and report behavior of students according to approved procedures; report progress regarding student performance and behavior. E
Prepare and implement weekly lesson plans. E
Attend meetings and in-service training related to child growth and development. E
Prepare materials for classroom use, such as cutting paper and preparing bulletin boards, charts, and other visual aids. E
Assure the health and safety of students by following health and safety practices and procedures; assist students in emergency and fire drill procedures; maintain classroom and related facilities in an attractive, safe, clean and orderly condition. E
Assist students by providing proper examples, emotional support, a friendly attitude, and general guidance. E
Perform related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Qualifies for Teacher Associate Credential on Child Development Matrix; twelve units of required ECE coursework.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
ENVIRONMENT: Classroom environment.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Seeing to monitor students' behavior during classroom activities, hearing and speaking to exchange information related to classroom assignments, bending at the waist, kneeling, and standing, and walking for extended periods of time.

Pay: $24.42 - $31.17 per hour
