Purpose and Objective: 

Ariba Inc. seeks a Developer at our Palo Alto, CA location to be responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, and quality assurance of complex product features in a development team.

Expectations and Tasks:

Resolve complex issues within the area of expertise, as well as support others in resolving issues. Show initiative and drive topics to resolution in a high level of quality, speed, reliability, and efficiency. Share expertise to ensure product success and also share advanced overall product and technical knowledge within and across the Development team. Act as a SCRUM Master and be responsible for ensuring that Scrum is understood and put into practice properly. Act as a “servant-leader” for the Product Owner and Development Team, facilitate Scrum events on request, and coach the Development Team in self-organization. Remove impediments on the Development Team’s progress.

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field of study and 1 year of experience required. The company will also accept a Master's degree and 0 years of experience.

Work Experience:

Experience or coursework must involve the following: API design and development using REST, Spring, Hibernate, and Java EE; Design & Implementation of algorithms for Storm Topologies & Kafka Consumer in Java; Design & implementation of the modules for data collection, modeling and visualization; Database design & development in MySQL; Automation of unit tests using JUnit & UI Automation using selenium; and Managing the manual deployment on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS servers.
