The records management technician will be dedicated to the management of agency records information throughout its life cycle from the time of creation or inscription to its eventual disposition. This includes the identifying, classifying, storing, securing, retrieving, tracking, and destroying or permanently preserving of agency records.
General Description of Duties
This position is responsible for ensuring that all agency documents and photos are accurately maintained in compliance with State of Florida General Records Schedules. A Records Management Technician is dedicated to the management of agency records information throughout its life cycle, from the time of creation or inscription to its eventual disposition. This includes the identifying, classifying, storing, securing, retrieving, tracking, and destroying or permanently preserving of agency records.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience with identifying, classifying, storing, securing, retrieving, tracking, and destroying or permanently preserving of records
- Experience with records retentions guidelines.
- Knowledge of and experience with public record laws and exemptions
- Knowledge of public records laws that pertain to the seal and expungement process.
- Computer literate demonstrating proficiency inputting and retrieving information required to perform position tasks.
- Detail-oriented demonstrating excellent organizational skills with ability to work independently as well as multi-task.
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive but highly confidential environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information, verbal and written, to citizens, courts, and colleagues.
- Perform other related duties, as necessary.
