What You'll Do
Operate Various Heavy Equipment, Including
- Excavators
- Dozers
- Backhoes
- Loaders
- Graders
- Rollers
- Skid steers
- Tractors
- Read and interpret grade stakes, elevations, and site plans
- Excavate, move, and grade earth, and install structures
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates
- Maintain safety, quality, and production standards
- Perform general labor duties when required
- Represent Sargent professionally and uphold our Core Values
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years of construction/heavy equipment experience (preferred)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability and willingness to travel (~75%)
- Proficiency operating heavy machinery
- Ability to judge slopes, distances, and elevations accurately
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Capacity to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, crawl, stoop, and use hand tools
- Visual and auditory ability appropriate for a construction site
