School Counselor (5-8)

Henniker Community School - Middle School School Counselor opening for the 2025-2026 school year.

The school counselor, in concert with and under the direction of school administrators, will facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. The school counselor works 1:1 with students, runs student groups, develops lesson plans and teaches courses for students in grades 5-8, and is responsible for implementation of a career exploration progress across grades 5-8. The school counselor partners with high school staff and the school administration to ensure a smooth transition from grade 8 to grade 9.

Qualifications Profile

• NH State Certification with endorsement as School Counselor
• Experience in middle school settings preferred.

Education

• Masters Degree in School Counseling or a related area preferred.
